Guardianship Training Module
Texas certified guardians, Texas guardians appointed prior to 06/01/18, Texas attorneys, and corporate fiduciaries are exempt from the training requirement.
Once you've completed the training, you must download a copy of your certificate from the training modules. Afterwards, you must provide a copy of your certificates to the court, as well as upload a copy of the certificates to your online registration form in the JBCC online licensing system.

Alzheimer's Training Module
Texas certified guardians, Texas attorneys, and corporate fiduciaries are exempt from the training requirement.
What is the new law?
- Texas law (Texas Government Code 155.204) now requires some guardians to take yearly training about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Who must take the training?
- Guardians of people age 60 or older, or those with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or related conditions.
When is it due?
- New guardians: within 6 months of appointment and every year after.
- Current guardians: complete by September 1, 2026.
Are there exceptions?
- Temporary guardians may not need training unless extended. Courts may waive requirement in some cases.
Who checks this?
- Provide a copy of your course completion certificate to the court overseeing the guardianship.
How to complete the training
- Select one of the training modules above.
- Log in or create account.
- Select Alzheimer's Training Video.
- Watch video.
- Confirm completion.
- Save or print certificate.
- Provide a copy of your completion certificate to the court.
