Hate Crimes
Article 2.211 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure provides that in each case that a request is made for an affirmative finding that an offense was committed because of bias or prejudice under Article 42.014, Code of Criminal Procedure, the clerk of the district or county court shall report that request to the Texas Judicial Council and include a statement whether an affirmative finding was entered in the judgment in the case. The clerk shall submit this report no later than the 30th day after the date the judgment is entered in the case.
The following is a list of the cases in which a request for a hate crime finding has been made since September 1, 2001.
