Settlement Database

In 2019, the Texas Legislature passed HB 770, requiring the Office of Court Administration (OCA) to establish and maintain an electronic database that contains personal injury or wrongful death settlement agreements for which a minor or incapacitated person is the beneficiary. If a record is submitted, OCA will maintain a copy of the record indefinitely.

To submit a record, email a copy of the record to OCA-LegalSupport@txcourts.gov.

To request a record, email your request to OCA-LegalSupport@txcourts.gov.

A copy of the agreement can only be accessed by the following individuals:

1. the parties to the settlement agreement;
2. each attorney representing a party to the settlement agreement; or
3. the guardian, next friend, or guardian ad litem of a party to the settlement agreement.
