Sidney C. Farrar (1992 to 1994)

Sidney Clifton Farrar was born April 25, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas.  He began his collegiate studies at TCU before transferring to the University of Texas, where he earned his undergraduate and law degrees.

After graduating from law school and passing the bar in 1955, Farrar enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for the next two years.  He returned to Texas in 1957 and began working at Kelly, Morris & Walker.  By 1962, he had joined with another local lawyer to form the law offices of Farrar and Claunch.  In 1981, Governor Bill Clements appointed him to serve as judge of the 153rd Judicial District Court.  In 1992, Governor Ann Richards appointed him to the Second Court of Appeals, where he served as a justice until 1994.

He was awarded the Silver Gavel award by the Tarrant County Bar Association in 2004 and continued to serve as a visiting judge until his retirement in 2011.
