Lee Ann Dauphinot (1995 to 2016)
Lee Ann Dauphinot was born on April 14, 1940, in Fort Worth, Texas. After graduating from TCU in 1961, she studied in Mexico as a Fulbright Fellow before pursuing graduate studies at Stanford University as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow. She earned a law degree from SMU in 1978 and was given the distinction of being the first female Hatton Sumners Scholar.
After practicing law in Tarrant County as a criminal defense attorney, she was elected to serve as judge of Tarrant County Criminal District Court No. 2 in 1989. In 1994, she was elected to the Second Court of Appeals and served as a justice for twenty-two years before retiring in 2016.
Dauphinot was a member of the National Association of Women Judges, the State Bar College, and the Texas Judicial Council. She was Board Certified in both Criminal Law and Criminal Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She passed away in 2024 and was buried in Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth.
