Harland “Tod” Weaver (1988 to 1994)
Harland “Tod” Weaver was born on August 12, 1924, in Dickens County, Texas. He served in the navy and obtained his undergraduate degree from William Jewel College. He then attended the University of Texas School of Law.
After graduating from law school, he began practicing both criminal and civil law in Fort Worth before relocating to Grapevine. In 1986, he was elected judge of the 233rd District Court of Tarrant County. Two years later he was elected Chief Justice of the Second Court of Appeals. He served as the Chief Justice for four years and spent another two years as an associate justice before retiring in 1994. Even after retiring from his full-time judicial role, he continued to serve as a visiting justice until 2001.
Weaver died on November 20, 2018, and was buried in Parker Memorial Cemetery in Grapevine, Texas.
