Marvin Holloman Brown (1935 to 1946)
Marvin Holloman Brown was born January 1, 1879, in Yazoo County, Mississippi. He attended the University of Mississippi, where he graduated with a bachelor of laws degree in 1903.
Sometime after 1906, he moved to Fort Worth, and by 1909 he had established a general law practice. From 1911 to 1913, he served as representative of Tarrant County’s District 78. From 1913 to 1916, he served as judge to the 67th District Court. He then returned to the legislature in 1918 as the representative of District 54.
In 1920, he accepted an appointment from Governor William Hobby to serve as a justice on the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth. Brown later served as a judge on the 96th District Court from 1932 to 1934 before returning to the Second Court of Appeals where he served from 1935 to 1946.
He never retired and served as an associate justice until he died on June 29, 1946. He was buried at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Fort Worth.
