Dana Womack (2019 to Present)

Dana Womack was born in Dallas, Texas.  After graduating from Corsicana High School in 1978, she enrolled at Baylor University.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1982, and because she had earned college credits in high school and had been allowed to take law school courses as an undergraduate, she graduated from Baylor Law School just one year later.

Womack began her legal career as an Assistant County Attorney in Odessa, Texas. She later moved to Fort Worth to take a position as an Assistant Tarrant County District Attorney.  In 1996, Womack successfully ran for judge of the 348th District Court, where she would serve for twenty years.

In 2019, Governor Greg Abbott appointed Womack to the Second Court of Appeals, where she currently serves as a justice. Womack is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, The Federalist Society, and a former member of the Texas District and County Attorneys Association.  She is Board Certified in both Civil Trial Law and Civil Appellate Law.
